Learning outcomes
PRN 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in national and foreign languages (Arabic and French) orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PRN 10. Know the norms of the literary Arabic and French languages and be able to apply them in practical activities. PRN 11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in national and foreign (Arabic and French) languages. PRN 14. To use Arabic and French in oral and written form, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful assimilation of the basic level of the French language, which was taught during two semesters of study in the educational program. Before starting this course, students should have basic factual knowledge of a linguistic nature, the basics of the comparative and comparative method, the basics of modern bibliographic culture, work with didactic and audio-visual materials, independently process speech material; plan and evaluate own work.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with basic knowledge of the French language, mastering phonetics, reading rules, familiarization with the main grammatical categories and lexical material in the scope of the proposed topic, aimed at free communication within its limits through the development of students' monologic and dialogic speech skills in various areas of our life, and getting closer to students' independent application of the acquired knowledge to work with professional materials in French.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Final evaluation in the form of an exam: • maximum number of points on the exam – 40 points; the minimum number of points (positive grade), which are added to the semester ones, is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allotted for the exam); • the following learning outcomes are evaluated in the exam: RN 1.1-1.4; 2.1-2.4; • the exam is conducted in written and oral form, the exam ticket consists of three tasks: 1) grammar questions learned during the semester (15 points); 2) conversational topic from what was studied during the semester (15 points); 3) reading and oral translation of an unfamiliar text from French into Ukrainian (10 points). • students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points are not allowed to take the exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points in the 1st semester is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire academic semester. The overall grade for the 1st semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation) and for independent work (written tasks, test tasks, preparation for oral answers, modular control works, exam) . All types of work for the 2nd semester have a total of: - in the maximum dimension - 60 points, - in the minimum dimension - 36 points. In case of absence from the practical session, the student must complete the assignment. The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final assessment (exam).
