Learning outcomes
PRN 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in national and foreign languages (Arabic and French) orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication.
PRN 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and problems of professional activity.
PRN 10. Know the norms of the literary Arabic and French languages and be able to apply them in practical activities.
PRN 14. To use Arabic and French in oral and written form, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the disciplines of the socio-humanitarian block; mastery of basic social communication skills with representatives of individual language and national groups, as well as in different teams; successful mastery of the disciplines "Oriental language: basic level", "Oriental language: intermediate level", "Fundamentals of translation theory", "Fundamentals of translation practice", "Translation practice", "Arabic language stylistics: translation studies aspect", "Business language and Arabic business etiquette".
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is for students to master social competencies (Soft-skills competencies), that is, the ability to communicate with various social groups, to develop skills for practical application of both a wide range of knowledge from the socio-humanitarian block of disciplines, and professional knowledge and competencies; practical improvement of translation skills by performing written and oral two-way Arabic-Ukrainian translation of scientific-technical, political, socio-economic, popular science, business topics, as well as everyday speech and communication in the professional sphere.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
There are three stages of practice:
1. Preparatory stage: orientation meetings at the Institute of Philology, acquaintance with the head of communicative and translation practice, study of normative documents; drawing up an individual work plan.
2. The main stage: communication with Arabic speakers; written translation; abstracting and annotating texts; compiling a glossary; preparation of a written translation in accordance with established standards; keeping a practice diary.
3. Final stage: preparation of reporting materials; submission of reporting documentation to the head of the practice for verification and evaluation; protection of practice.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final evaluation of the internship (min. 60 / max. 100 points) takes place by adding up the points received by the student for all 3 stages of the internship, based on the calculation: 1st stage - 6/10 points, 2nd stage - 30/50 points (diary practices – 6/10 points, written translation of texts – 12/20 points, abstracting and annotating texts – 6/10 points, compiling a glossary – 6/10 points); 3rd stage – 24/40 points (drafting of reporting materials – 18/30 points, presentation – 6/10 points).
