PLO 10. To know the norms of the literaryArabic and French languages and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the national and foreign (Arabic and French) languages. PLO 14. To use Arabic and French in oral and written form, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral) to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 20. To demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages (Arabic and Ukrainian).

The goal of the educational discipline is to give students a general idea of the functional and stylistic features of the Arabic economic sublanguage, varieties of commercial and economic texts, linguistic and cultural factors of their creation; to develop written and oral two-way translation skills in the relevant field. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a practical direction.

The discipline provides only practical classes, designed for active work of students in the classroom and aimed at the development of skills in oral and written translation of mentioned texts. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of oral questioning and organization of written tasks, tests, lexical dictations, modular test papers.

Semestral assessment is based on the oral answers, written assignments, lexical dictations, translation exercises – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 12/20 points, final test paper – 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
