PRN 7. Understand the main problems of Arabic (Hindi / Persian) of philology and approaches to their solution with using expedient and innovative methods approaches PRN 8. To know and understand the language system, general properties of literature as the art of words, history Arabic (Hindi / Persian) language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in the professional field activity PRN 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PRN 16. Know and understand basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, skills apply them in professional activities. PRN 17. Collect, analyze, systematize, etc to interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized professional areas activities and/or training.

Course content
The aim of the discipline is to acquaint future philologists of Eastern languages with the basics of systematic languages knowledge of synchronic linguistics as the first component of the basic theory of the chosen specialty; to teach students to apply knowledge of the main laws revealed in the historical linguistics

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Self-study of the students involves performance of written assignments, work with reference literature, dictionaries, Internet resources.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral testing, written assignments, reports and presentations – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 12/20 points, final test paper – 12/20 points (totally 100 points). The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
