Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying this course, students must know the basic stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic culturological teachings and methods of culturological research, basic culturological concepts and categories; ideas about the diversity of cultural achievements and values. Be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena, cultural processes and events; identify current trends in the coexistence of different cultures in the context of globalization and intercultural dialogue, predict the prospects for their development, taking into account the peculiarities of cultural processes in the context of globalization; apply modern methods in the process of understanding artistic phenomena. Have basic skills in research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional culturological information sources.
Course content
Purpose of discipline - ensuring a stable system of knowledge about culture in the system of being, the multiplicity of types of theories of cultures in relation to cultural problems of the present and, as a result, the discovery of common foundations of various facts of modern culture. Annotation. The educational discipline acquaints students with the theoretical and methodological basis of knowledge about culture in the system of being, identifying the essence of culture in its existence, processes of functioning of spiritual culture in modern society, trends of socio-cultural development of various cultural institutes. Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts. The first part of the course - "Essence and meaning of culture, its language", the second part of the course - "Culture and civilization, forms of culture". Forms of education: lectures, seminars, independent work. During the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, which are evaluated according to the types of work (oral response, additions, participation in discussions at lectures and seminar classes, final control work, credit).
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which is 40% of the total assessment, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility, which is 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: oral presentation, additions and participation in discussions at seminars – 28/49 points; independent work #1 (summary of primary sources) – 10 / 15 points; independent work #2 (presentation of independent research on the topics of the educational.
