Successfully master the courses: Cultural studies; History and theory of music. To know the theoretical and practical foundations of cultural studies, in particular, the peculiarities of the development of Ukrainian musical art. Have the ability to research a scientific text. To be able to work with scientific sources, to generalize theoretical knowledge devoted to the study of questions from the course.

The goal formation of a system of knowledge in theoretical foundations and scientific directions and methods of studying folk traditional musical culture. Abstract. The complex multi-semester educational discipline consists of two parts in the 4th semester: Part 1. Minor genres of folklore; Part 2. Children's folklore. Within the first part, which is focused on mastering small genres of folklore, genre varieties, methods and approaches to their study, the history of collecting and studying genres and their connections with other types of folk art are studied. In Part 2, genre varieties of children's folklore, their structure, poetics, and functions are studied. Approaches and methods of their research, history of collection and publication.

The course includes 2 content parts. The first part of the course is "Children's folklore", the second part of the course is "Small genres of folklore". Forms of education: lectures, seminars, scientific seminar, independent work. Throughout the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, which are evaluated according to the types of work (oral answer, supplement, report at a scientific seminar, blitz survey, participation in discussions at lectures and seminar classes, intermediate control test, exam).

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge) - 40% of the total assessment, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility - 60% of the overall assessment . The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: oral answers, additions, blitz surveys, intermediate control tests, presentation of a scientific report) and for independent work.
