Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, German and English. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 26. Conduct stylistic editing of Ukrainian texts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the following courses: - Introduction to Translation Studies; - Introduction to Linguistics; - Modern Ukrainian Language for Translators; - Ukrainian and Foreign Culture; - Comparative Lexicology of First Foreign Language and Ukrainian Language. 2. Proficiency in phonetic, morphemic, word-formation, grammatical and syntactic analysis methodologies; basics of component analysis; skills in collecting, accumulating, processing and searching for information.
Course content
The academic course "Text Editing (Ukrainian Language)" is a part of the elective block 1 "Translation in Intercultural Communication (German, English)" of the educational-professional program "Translation from German and English" for training specialists at the "Bachelor" educational level (specialty 035 "Philology" (035.043 Philology (German languages and literatures (translation included), first — German)). It is taught in the second semester of the third course in the volume of three credits. The mentioned discipline is aimed to prepare philology specialists, specialists in the translation of foreign language texts into Ukrainian, who are capable both of translating written and spoken texts, and professionally recognizing the main linguistic tendencies, giving recommendations regarding the peculiarities of translating typical and specific language constructions, using grammatically correct and stylistically justified units to ensure high-quality translation. In-depth knowledge of orthoepic, lexical, grammatical and syntactic language features will allow graduates of translation specialties to ensure high-quality text translation at any language level.
