PLO 4. To understand the fundamental principles of being a person, nature, society. PLO 9. To characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Persian languages, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 21. To apply knowledge of linguistic and regional studies of Iran, history of relations between Ukraine and the countries of the East.

Successful completion of a school course in world history and geography.

The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the theoretical apparatus of linguistic and regional studies, with the ethno-specificity of Persian culturally marked vocabulary; to form students' linguistic competence in the fields of history, geography, public administration and economy of Iran, religion, philosophy, art, culture, national traditions and holidays of Iranians. The discipline is a part of the complex discipline "Historical and Regional Studies" and has a theoretical direction.

Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Self-study of the students involves preparation for oral responses, participation in discussions, reports with the analyses of scientific literature, research presentation, precis, summaries.

Semestral assessment is based on: oral responses, written works, reports and presentations / precis – 24/40 points, modular control works – 12/20 points. Summarizing evaluation in the form of exam is max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of minimum required quantity); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, and proposes: 1) to answer two theoretical questions; 2) to take part in oral discussion of topics related to these issues. Students, who totally scored less than 36 points during the semester, may not participate in the exam.
