PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of English and the two studied Western European languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages. PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes.

Full-time form

The discipline is meant for students who have successfully mastered the "General Linguistics" course and are aware of the place of the Italian language among the Romance languages, its multinational character in the globalized world, and possess basic factual knowledge of linguistic nature.

The discipline is taught in the 7th term in the amount of 10 credits: 120 hours of practical classes and 180 hours of individual work. The course includes 3 content modules and 3 final module tests, which end with an exam.

Answer at the practical class; multimedia presentation/ report; continuous assessment test; module test; final test. Throughout the term, practical classes on relevant topics are held. The assessment is carried out at the practical classes according to the types of work and the form of control described above.

The term final grade is formed by the points student receive the in the process of performing the stated types and forms of tuition, and the points gained for the final test, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points –term assessment and 40 points – final assessment (oral-written exam). The final grade in the discipline consists of the sum of the number of points for the term work (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the final assessment - the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
