Prerequisites and co-requisites
n order to study the discipline successfully, students should know the approaches, principles, methods, forms of innovative teaching of the English language, tools and the latest learning platforms at the school of specialized, special and distance learning. They should possess the skills of using modern information technologies, innovative approaches and methods of teaching English online.
Course content
The discipline is designed to ensure the formation of students’ methodological competence, i.e. knowledge and skills, the ability and readiness to plan, organize, implement the innovative process of teaching English in a specialized, special and distance learning school, the ability and readiness to work in a team in the field of innovative methods of teaching English using works of foreign literature. The discipline forms the ability to develop and apply the latest technologies, approaches, methods, principles, means of teaching English, the ability to use the latest information platforms in the educational process to create lessons using the methods of projects, case studies, jigsaws, writing personal portfolios and ability to adapt to changes in the educational space .

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study consist of lectures, practical classes and students’ self-study. Teaching methods include answers at the practical classes, educational projects, Case Studies, portfolio, module test papers.
Assessment methods and criteria
Formative assessment is calculated as a sum of points gained for answers at the practical classes, educational projects, Case Studies, portfolio, module test papers (max 60 / min 36 points). The summative assessment, the exam, is conducted in the form of a written work, the exam card consists of 3 tasks: two theoretical and one practical task (max 40 / min 24 points). Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum (36 points) are not allowed to take the exam. If the students score less than 24 points on the exam, they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points received during the semester, and are reported as "unsatisfactory" on the national scale.
