Full-time form

Before starting this course, students should know information about modern Slavic states, their geographical location, history within the framework of the secondary school curriculum; linguistic and literary terms; facts related to the history of the Slavic peoples. Be able to work with educational and scientific literature, plan and evaluate one's own work; use interactive and multimedia tools. Possess elementary skills of critical attitude to analyzed phenomena; interaction and cooperation in education.

The aim of the discipline is to acquaint first-year students with the main Slavic problems. The discipline "Introduction to Slavic Philology" belongs to the list of mandatory disciplines and is taught in the 1st semester of the bachelor's degree - in accordance with the curriculum of the educational and professional program "Slovenian Language and Literature and English Language". The purpose of the propaedeutic course is to acquaint first-year students with basic Slavic issues. The position of the Slavic peoples in the modern world is characterized. The history of statehood among the Slavs is considered. Issues of ethnogenesis of Slavs, material and spiritual culture of ancient Slavs are highlighted. Students get acquainted with the main stages of the development of the Proto-Slavic language. Particular attention is paid to issues related to the emergence and spread of Slavic writing.
