Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the main grammatical categories of the Ukrainian language and general linguistic concepts, mastery of skills of lexical and grammatical sentence analysis.
Course content
Acquaintance of students with the basics of normative grammar of Latin, formation of ideas about the influence of Latin on the development of modern European languages and international scientific terminology, development of skills to read, translate and analyze Latin texts. The Latin language course is a part of the complex compulsory discipline "Prophetic languages" and consists of two semantic parts. The first contains a brief introduction and information on Latin phonetics, grammatical categories of basic parts of speech, rules of declension of nouns and adjectives of I-II declension; features of declension of correct verbs and verbs esse in the times of the system of infection; involves the development of reading and translation skills, vocabulary skills.
