Learning outcomes
PLO11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state and Modern Greek and English languages.
PLO16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of Neohellenistics, to be able to apply them in professional activities.
PLO17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems in specialized areas of professional activity and education.
PLO 20.2. To carry out intercultural communication in the Modern Greek language in oral and written form.
PLO 22.2. To translate specialized texts from and into Modern Greek.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To have a B1 level of Greek, to master basic tactics of written translation of different styles of texts into Greek.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to comprehensively train neohellenists phililogists for the practical implementation of acts of intercultural communication on socially significant or topical issues based on theoretical knowledge and practical skills, primarily consecutive interpretation, abstracting and annotating materials in native and foreign languages. Part 1 "Consecutive interpretation of media texts in the field of Greek foreign and domestic policy and public affairs" allows students to develop the skills of consecutive interpretation of texts related to current topics of Greek and Cypriot foreign policy, domestic social and political issues, and to familiarize yourself with the performance of public functions. Part 2 "Consecutive interpretation of media texts on social development, culture, art, education and science" aims to master the professional aspects of intercultural communication related to a wide range of social and cultural life in Greece and Cyprus, to consider translation aspects of neologization of the language, the functioning of jargon, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of completing the declared types and forms of study, and the points obtained at the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam.
