Learning outcomes
PTR 1. To freely communicate in Ukrainian and Russian languages in the
professional sphere with specialists and non-specialists orally and in writing, to use
those languages for effective intercultural communication organisation.
PTR 24. To speak a third foreign language (Russian) at a level that allows you to meet the communication needs in situations of daily communication related to everyday life, education and socio-cultural spheres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the first Slavic language (Ukrainian). Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics.
Course content
The course provides basic knowledge of the Russian language and develops elementary communication skills. Students are introduced to the basics of Russian grammar: declension of nouns, adjectives and pronouns; verb tense; past and future tense of verbs; creation of qualitative adverbs; quantitative and ordinal numerals, etc. Students develop writing and reading skills in Russian, the ability to correctly reproduce oral speech in writing, participate in a dialogue within the framework of everyday, partly socio-cultural and professional topics defined by the programme, and implement the following communicative intentions: questions and messages about address, place of residence, time, future plans, weather, life, number, age of a person, hobbies, attitude of someone to another, health, health problems, etc.
