Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: - Possess knowledge, skills and abilities in the disciplines of the social and humanitarian cycle, such as "Introduction to University Studies", etc. - basic categories and concepts related to human and social life. 2. Be able to: - Identify, analyze educational and scientific information, draw reasonable conclusions on issues of professional activity. 3. Possess basic skills: - compiling written documents, correcting their content, systematizing the materials necessary for work, effectively organizing their own educational activities.
Course content
The discipline "Selected Sections of Labor Law and Fundamentals of Business Activity" is a component of the professional training of specialists of the bachelor's degree in all educational programs of the Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and is taught in the 6th (7/8th) semester - in accordance with the curriculum for a specific educational program. The course covers the constitutional basis for the realization of the right to work and its main forms. Students study the rules of law that regulate the procedure for concluding, amending and terminating an employment contract as the main form of realization of the right to work. The legal basis for establishing and regulating the basic working conditions: working time and rest time; labor standardization and remuneration; labor protection, labor discipline are outlined. The grounds and procedure for bringing an employee to legal liability for failure to perform or improper performance of their labor duties (disciplinary liability, material liability) are revealed. The legal framework for the protection of labor rights in Ukraine is analyzed. The discipline forms students' economic, institutional and organizational foundations of entrepreneurial activity and aims to provide students with knowledge and initial practical skills about the economic nature of entrepreneurship, its forms and planning; innovative entrepreneurship; technologies for starting a business; state regulation of entrepreneurship; commercialization of scientific developments.

Part "Selected Sections of Labor Law": 1. Independent work (report): 12 - 20 points. 2. Solving problems in seminars: 5 - 9 points. 3. Complementing the answer: 4 - 6 points. 4. Oral survey: 3 - 5 points. 5. Participation in the colloquium: 3 - 5 points. 6. Final control work: 3 - 5 points. Part "Fundamentals of entrepreneurial activity" 1. Participation in lectures and seminars: 4 - 8 points. 2. Module control work: 4 - 8 points. 3. Independent work (writing essays, preparing presentations, case study): 13 - 16 points. 4. Final assessment for the module in the form of a final comprehensive test: 5 - 10 points.
