Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of Turkish and English languages and literatures and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folklore, determine their specificity and place in the literary process (according to the chosen specialization). PLO 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the periodization and history of Turkish literature. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of Turkish literature of the pre-Islamic and Islamic periods. 3. Possession of basic skills in analyzing poetry and prose. 4. Proficiency in Turkish at a level that meets the communication needs for processing works in the original and translation.
Course content
The discipline "Turkish Literature of the XIX - early XX centuries" is an elective component of the educational and scientific program "Oriental Philology, Western European Language and Translation: Turkish Language and Literature"; level of education: first (VII semester; 90 hours in total, including 18 hours of lectures, 16 hours of seminars, 56 hours of independent work). The course involves familiarizing students with the basic and conceptual foundations of the formation of modern Turkish literature, in particular, representatives and works of the following periods will be studied: the period of constitutional reforms, "Servet-i Funun", "Fesr-i Ati" and the National Period.
