Prerequisites and co-requisites
Fluency in the state and Japanese languages; knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics; successful mastering of the disciplines "Eastern Language: Intermediate Level", "Eastern Language: Advanced Level", "Lexicology of the First Eastern Language, "Theoretical Grammar of the First Eastern Language".
Course content
The discipline NND.16 "History of the First Eastern Language" is a specialized one for the students studying in the specialty "Philology (035.069 Philology (Eastern Languages and Literatures (Translation Inclusive), the first - Japanese)"; it is taught in the 8th semester, the scope of the discipline – 3 credits, 90 hours (30 academic hours: 16 hours of lectures, 14 hours of seminars; 60 hours - self-study). The form of final control is an examination. The course is designed to explain the main historical milestones in the development of phonetic and lexical systems of the Japanese language, formation of the Japanese writing, morphological and syntactic structures. Self-study of students covers individual study of special literature.

Assessment methods and criteria
