Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian and Swedish, English and third Germanic language, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, Swedish English and third Germanic language. PLO 14. Use Swedish, English and third Germanic language in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 20.2. Translate written and oral texts of various styles and genres from Swedish, English and the third Germanic language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The course "Practice of translation from the third Germanic language (German)" in the 6th semester requires prior knowledge of the German language at a level not lower than A2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, fluency in the Ukrainian language, as well as basic knowledge of translation theory and basic practical translation skills acquired during the study of translation educational disciplines from the first language.
Course content
The course "Practice of translation from the third Germanic language (German)" covers practical classes. In practical classes, students acquire the skills of written translation of socio-political texts from German into Ukrainian. Students develop skills in applying translation transformations in German-Ukrainian translation, learn to transcribe and transliterate proper names in German-language texts into Ukrainian, develop skills in searching for information, in particular in lexicographic sources.

Current assessment: written translations, oral surveys, final test. There is no final evaluation. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
