Successful mastering of courses "Chinese language: intermediate level"; "Introduction to Chinese Philology", disciplines "Fundamentals of Linguistics: Synchronism" and "Fundamentals of Linguistics: Diachronism".
Course content
The aim of the course "Chinese Lexicology" is to acquaint students with the fundamental principles of modern Chinese lexicology, its structural organization, the basic units of the system and methods of their creation, the specifics of the vocabulary of modern Chinese, functional and stylistic features of lexical units and classes, as well as the theoretical provisions of modern lexicology. The discipline is part of the complex discipline "General Theoretical Course of Chinese Language" (Part 3). The discipline is designed to form a scientific idea of ​​the systemic nature of Chinese vocabulary, to outline the patterns of development of the lexical fund of Chinese language and some mechanisms of its transformation, to master basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills for further mastering Chinese at the next levels of language training.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training: lectures and seminars conducted using interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of activities and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom activities, answers during seminars, written tests, project work. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. The minimum score for the semester is 60 points, while the maximum score equals 100. The course ends with a final test. A "pass" is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment activities. Criteria for semester assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
