PLO 1. To be confident using state and foreign languages for written and spoken communication on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists and for organizing the effective intercultural communication. PLO 8. To know and to understand the system of ancient Greek, Latin and foreign languages, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of ancient Greek and Latin languages and literature, to be able to apply the knowledge in professional activities. PLO 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating spoken and written texts of various genres and styles in national, classical and foreign languages. PLO 12. To analyze units of language, to determine their interaction, to characterize language phenomena and processes that cause them.

Full-time form

Successful mastering of the course requires knowledge of general linguistic terminology and terminology; knowledge of the basics of modern English grammar; mastery of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the level provided by the program of the first and second years of study.

The educational discipline "English" is one of the key components of the comprehensive training of a specialist at the educational qualification level "bachelor". The discipline includes practical classes. English language learning takes place on the basis of the main provisions of the communicative approach to learning a foreign language using authentic materials and modeling real communicative situations. The principle of communicativeness is defined as the primacy of communicative goals within the four types of speech activity relative to the secondaryness of language-thematic material as the basis for the further formation of the ability to communicate.

Practical training

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1), which makes up 40% of the total assessment, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.2); (communication 3.1); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1), which is 60% of the total grade. The final form of assessment in the 5th semester is the credit. The writing of two thematic control papers, the preparation of homework in the necessary volume and oral presentations on the topics provided for by the work program of the academic discipline are mandatory for credit. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures.
