PLO 8. To know and to understand the system of ancient Greek, Latin and foreign languages, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of ancient Greek and Latin languages and literature, to be able to apply the knowledge in professional activities. PLO 13. To analyze and to interpret ancient literature works, to determine their specificity and the position in the literary process. PLO 22. To understand the role and the place of classical languages and literatures in the context of the European linguistic and cultural space, in the development strategies of the latest scientific paradigm and modern civilization.

Full-time form

Successful mastering of the discipline requires knowledge of both the basic principles and content of works of ancient literature, as well as generalities of the world literary process. Students should also: 1. To know the basic volume of ancient Greek and Roman mythology, canonical plots of both literatures of the ancient world, as well as to understand the essence of the connection between myth and literature; 2. To know the main literary methods and methods of analysis of an artistic text, in particular receptive aesthetics; 3. Possess the skills of comparative analysis.

The educational discipline introduces a complex of canonical ancient mythical and literary plots, which, over the course of thousands of years, have been subjected to numerous treatments, imitations, and imitations, while preserving the semantic and thematic core that makes an "ancient plot" recognizable in any interpretive space for any what genre-generic modifications and national invariants. The arsenal of markers of appearance and reasons for the reactualization of the "ancient plot" in world literature determined the content of this course.

Lecture, presentation, practical session, independent work

The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of the points received for the classroom work (oral answers) and the final test. All types of work for the semester have as a result: ● in the maximum dimension of 100 points, ● a minimum of 60 points. In case of absence from the practical session, the student must complete the task for the practical session in written form. • Final assessment: credit
