PLO 8. Know and understand the system of the Ancient Greek, Latin and a foreign language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of the Ancient Greek and Latin languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, classical and a foreign language. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of the Ancient literature, determine their peculiarities and place in the literary process. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and specific philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres in Ancient Greek and Latin.

Full-time form

1) successful mastering of the academic disciplines "Introduction to Literary Studies", "History of Ancient Greek Literature", "History of Roman Literature"; "Ancient mythology and modernity", "Culture of Ancient Greece and Rome", "Latin language", "Ancient Greek language"; 2) knowledge of general information about the historical and cultural context of antiquity, the basics of literary terminology, the basics of ancient Greek and Roman mythology, the basic volume of ancient literature (ancient Greek and ancient Roman); 3) possession of elementary skills of analysis and interpretation of literary works taking into account the peculiarities of the time and era.

The goal of the discipline is to familiarize students with the main types of reception of antiquity in world literature and culture, to form students' comprehensive knowledge about the priority plots and motives in the Western European literature. Abstract of the educational discipline. Within the scope of the course, the ways of the penetration of ancient discourse into European literature, the influence of antiquity on the formation of styles and genres of European literature, the relationship between the forms of reception of antiquity in the literature of the modern age, the nature of assimilation of the ancient heritage by the recipient cultures are considered; the main works of representatives of ancient and European literature are studied within the framework of comparative analysis with the involvement of original texts.

Final assessment: credit. The semester grading is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (supplementation and participation in discussions at lectures, control work), independent creative works and final control work. All types of work for the semester have as a result: ● in the maximum dimension of 100 points, ● a minimum of 60 points. Final control work in the form of tests: 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 – 12/20 points A detailed description of the forms, criteria and organization of assessment is given in the working course program, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
