Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Know and understand the system of the Ancient Greek, Latin and a foreign language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of the Ancient Greek and Latin languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes.
PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and specific philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres in Ancient Greek and Latin.
PLO 20. Know Greek and Latin substratum of the modern academic terminology, possess the knowledge of the metalanguage of the academic description and use it in the situations of professional communication.
PLO 21. Possess the skills to translate texts of different styles and genres in Ancient Greek and Latin.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successfully master the courses "Ancient Greek language. 1 semester", "Ancient Greek language. 2 semester" and "Ancient Greek language. 3rd semester": to know the paradigm of independent parts of speech, peculiarities of word formation; to have the skills to determine the grammatical meanings of forms, the ability to translate ancient Greek texts in accordance with the tasks (educational goals) determined by the work programs of the specified disciplines.
Course content
The goal is to train highly qualified specialists in Classical languages. The course involves a comprehensive study of the basic aspects of the morphology and word formation of the Ancient Greek language in parallel with the development of students' skills of speaking and translation as well as hermeneutic abilities.
Abstract of the academic discipline. The subject of study of the academic discipline in the third semester is the morphology and word structure of verbs of the 2nd conjugation, as well as the peculiarities of the syntax of a complex sentence of the Attic dialect of the Ancient Greek language, which constituted the grammatical norm of the ancient Greek language in the classical period of its development.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes; video materials and presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint); independent work (preparation of materials on a given topic, exercises and translation of texts)
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester points are formed by the points obtained in process of assimilation of the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom and independent work. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam: the maximum score in the exam is 40 points, the minimum score, which is are added to the semester ones, is 24 points; the following learning outcomes are evaluated on the exam: 1.1-1.2; 2.1-2.2; 3.1; the exam is held in written form, which consists of two theoretical questions and a practical one. The final number of points for discipline is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during semester, taking into account the exam. Admission to exam requires the student to successfully complete assignments and work throughout semester.
