Course content
The object of study of the discipline is various types of discourses, and the subject is grammatical, lexical-grammatical, cognitive, and statistical parameters, by which we understand a quantum of information about the language structure, which appears in combination with other quanta (parameters), which finds a specific expression in dictionaries. There is a dialectical interaction between the text and the language system, that is, the text simultaneously realizes and forms the language system. Therefore, the mediated way of studying language phenomena through the text is legitimate and promising, since all linguistic units of all language levels are analyzed as a single reality in observation. The discipline aims to teach students the methodology of text research using computer, quantitative and statistical methods.
