Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To work with information effectively: to select necessary information from different sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases; to analyze and interpret it critically; to arrange it and make proper classification and systematization.
PLO 3. To organize the process of learning and self-education.
PLO 4. To understand fundamental principles of human existence and nature in the contemporary scientific picture of the world, as well as fundamental principles of society with the aim of realizing man’s rights and duties as a member of society, awareness of the rule of law, human rights and freedoms and rights and freedoms of a citizen of Ukraine.
PLO 5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, proponents of different political views, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; have basic knowledge of humanitarian and social sciences direction.
2. Be able to collect and interpret information about social phenomena, processes, and events; determine the modern features of the coexistence of human communities in the conditions of globalization; plan and evaluate own work; apply interactive and multimedia learning tools.
3. Have elementary skills in working with humanitarian texts; critical attitude to political, economic, and socio-cultural processes, events, and phenomena.
Course content
The course "Philosophy" belongs to the compulsory disciplines and is taught in the VI semester of the bachelor's degree. The course introduces students to philosophical thought in its historical development and modern state, with a fundamental way of understanding the foundations of human existence, cognition, and activity. Provides a holistic view of the specifics of philosophical knowledge, its problems, concepts and categories, and structure. Shows the methodological role of philosophical knowledge in understanding ontological, epistemological, axiological, and social problems of existence. Familiarizes with the basic patterns of development of nature and society and the place of the person in the world.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: lectures, seminars, individual consultations, independent work. Teaching methods: explanatory-illustrative method, method of problem-based learning (problem lecture), heuristic method, preparation and discussion of reports (presentations), educational discussion.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current assessment: oral presentation, additions and participation in discussions at seminars, independent work review, control test. The final assessment is an exam. Evaluation criteria for each form of control are given in the course program.
