Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to better master the educational material of the discipline, students must successfully master courses in "Inorganic Chemistry", "Analytical Chemistry", "Colloid Chemistry", and "Physical Methods of Inorganic Compound Research", "Spectroscopy of Inorganic Compounds", "Statistical Research Methods", separate sections of physics, mathematics and organic chemistry. The student must be able to conduct an analytical experiment and interpret the obtained results. Have skills in searching for scientific information and translation from English.
Course content
In the program of the discipline, the main attention is paid to familiarization with soil chemistry, consideration of modern international methods for the study of soils for various purposes according to the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) and EUSO (EU Soil Observatory) systems. Special attention is paid to the skills of practical use of theoretical knowledge and practical skills from various types of analytical, inorganic and physical chemistry in the study of both standard parameters and priority pollutants of natural and anthropogenic origin. Modern normative documents of international agencies on soil control and monitoring are considered. During the course, students take a laboratory course, which is an integral addition to the acquisition of practical knowledge, and conduct soil research in a certified analytical laboratory for soil research.
