Learning outcomes
LO2. To understand patterns and tendencies of the development and functioning of mental phenomena in the professional tasks’ context. LO5. To select and use: valid and reliable psychological research and assessment methods (tests, questionnaires, projective techniques etc.); techniques of psychological help. LO9. To propose own solutions of psychological problems in a professional context, to argue own point of view. LO16. To know, understand and implement ethical principles of psychologist professional activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the theoretical foundations and history of general, differential, social psychology, workshops on general psychology and psychodiagnostics; psychology of work, know the theoretical foundations of technology for organizing and conducting psychological research. To be able to select and implement a psychological tool and build a plan for experimental research of psychological phenomena; be able to summarize primary sources, compile a bibliography. To have basic skills of forming the main regulators of activity and behavior in the group on the basis of the studied discipline "Introduction to the specialty".
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form a system of scientific concepts and scientifically organized basic ideas about the existing aspects of professional choice of activity and the gradual formation of the subject of professional self-determination. The discipline forms an idea of: professional orientation as a complex system (components, purpose, content and structure, concepts, trends, patterns, principles and criteria of career guidance) and professional psychological selection as a specialized procedure for determining the psychological suitability of the candidate for the profession; methods of diagnosis of professional interests, inclinations, intentions, etc. and active methods in career guidance; identification and study of professionally important qualities and professional suitability.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system. Assessment: oral answers (speech at the seminar, participation in discussions and debates, additions) and written (express survey), practical, creative tasks (preparation and work with psychodiagnostic tools, career guidance active and blank board games, activity in the classroom), final test. Final assessment - credit. The maximum number of points for work during the semester is 100. The recommended minimum for admission to the test - 36 points. The maximum number of 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester - 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the test). 60-100 - credited; 0-59 - not credited.
