Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: theoretical principles of social pedagogy (basics of group interaction); main trends in the development of the social sphere in Ukraine, understanding of the social protection system. Be able to: perform a basic analysis of the social situation and problems of the target group. Possess: basic skills of application in practical situations of knowledge in the subject area and understanding of professional activity.
Course content
The purpose - the formation of knowledge and skills in the field of social protection of the population in socio-pedagogical activities. The first module acquaints with the structure and objectives of the course, forms a idea of the essence and content of the «social service»; legal regulation of the process of its provision; focuses on the community as the provider of social services. The second module examines the tools, stages and components of social service development to improve the position of the target group.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, seminar, individual practical developments, practical classes, meetings with experts in social protection, group and individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: survey, elaboration of normative-legal documents, elaboration of primary sources, presentation, discussion, elaboration of cases, modular and final control work, credit. Final evaluation: test. The grade is formed as the sum of all points earned during the semester The minimum number of points for admission to the test - 36 points. Number of points per semester - 36-60; the number of points for the test – 40. Correspondence scale: Passed - 60-100 Not credited / Fail - 0-59
