Prerequisites and co-requisites
To effectively acquire knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of sociology, students need to master the basics of such disciplines as General Psychology, Philosophy, and Social and Political Studies.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to provide students with fundamental and systematic knowledge of sociology as a science of society, as well as trends in the development of social phenomena, relations and processes occurring in modern society in the course of global changes and social transformations. The course is aimed at developing skills in using the conceptual and methodological tools of sociological science to analyze complex social objects, phenomena and processes, understanding the directions, trends and social mechanisms of functioning and development of social objects, phenomena and processes, the ability to explain the social consequences of social change and social transformation.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Test 3 on topics 1-7 (test): 25 points/ 15 points. 2. Individual assignment (essay on "Sociology as a science, peculiarities of modern sociological research in Ukraine and the world"): 15 points / 9 points. 3. Evaluation of work during seminars on topics 1 and 7: 40 points / 24 points (oral report 5 points / 3 points). 4. Final test 20 points / 12 points Final assessment: credit Passed 60-100 Fail 0-59
