Learning outcomes
- Knowledge and understanding of scientific facts, concepts, theories, principles and methods of experimental informatics - Ability to apply a comprehensive approach to solving experimental problems using information and measurement technology and application software - Ability to use mathematical apparatus of theoretical physics, physical models, methods of reliability analysis of physical models for solving physical problems in optics and laser physics - Ability to conduct theoretical and experimental studies of physical phenomena in environments in different phase states using optical methods - Have modern methods and techniques of design and research, and analysis of results - Know and understand the principles of operation and structure of optical and opto-electronic information and measurement systems - Know and understand the physical basis of operation of devices and systems based on laser technology and nonlinear optics.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The applicant must first master the following disciplines in the scope of teaching at the physical faculties of classical universities: General Physics. Optics. Special course. Quantum electronics and physics of lasers. Special course. Nonlinear optics.
Course content
The special course examines the physical foundations and modern achievements of adaptive optics. The curriculum consists of three sections (topics): Topic 1. Methods of adaptive phase correction of light beams. Topic 2. Adaptive systems. Topic 3. Inversion of the wave front. The topics correspond to three content modules: - module 1 - topic 1; - module 2 - topic 2; - module 3 - topic 3.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: lectures, consultations. Assessment methods: modular tests, abstracts, exam. The final grade is set on the basis of intermediate grades of modular control (40%) and exam (60%).
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: Modular test 1 (6 points - 10 points). Modular test 2 (6 points - 10 points). Other types of control (12 points - 20 points). Final assessment in the form of an exam (36 points - 60 points).
