basic models for describing the structure of atomic nuclei; general properties of single-particle and collective states in nuclei. general properties of nucleon-nucleon nuclear forces and bases of their description; characteristics of radioactive transformations of atomic nuclei and models of their description; features of electromagnetic transitions to nuclei; the role of shell effects and their influence on the characteristics of the structure and division of the nucleus; general classification of nuclear reactions, ideas about the kinematics of nuclear reactions and the influence of conservation laws; main mechanisms of nuclear reactions (direct, pre-equilibrium, compound-nuclear) and methods of their description; relationship between theoretical models of nuclear structure and mechanisms of nuclear reactions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of all previous normative basic courses of physics ("Physics of the atomic nucleus and elementary particles", "Mechanics", "Molecular physics", "Electricity", "Optics") and higher mathematics. 2. Be able to solve problems in basic physics courses. 3. Have basic computer skills to search for information on the Internet.
Course content
The training course "Theory of Nuclear and Nuclear Reactions" outlines the basic models of atomic nuclei, their decay, the mechanisms of nuclear reactions and methods for calculating the main observed characteristics of nuclear processes.
