Learning outcomes
1. the main provisions of the theory of physics of neutrons and photons;
2. basics and principles of research with neutron and photon beams of different energies;
3. The most famous modern experimental installations with coherent photon and neutron beams in the United States, Germany, Japan, and others.
4. logically and consistently formulate the basic concepts and methods that correspond to applied physics with neutron and photon beams;
5. know the main areas of research in laboratories for neutron physics and photon beams (coherent and incoherent); analyze experimental data and evaluate the accuracy of the results;

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of all previous courses of high energy physics, theoretical astrophysics and nuclear physics.
2. Be able to perform calculations and solve problems in nuclear physics and particle physics.
3. Have the skills to write computer programs for data analysis.
Course content
Students gain a deep understanding of the nature of neutrons, features of synchrotron beams, modern theories that describe methods of analyzing the structure of matter by these beams, experimental studies on the scale of atoms using neutral beams.

Assessment methods and criteria
At the end of each semantic module the control of theoretical and practical knowledge in the form of modular written control work (at the rate of 1 hour of independent work) is carried out. The maximum number of points that can be obtained as a result of each test of content modules - 10. The total maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student when performing test tasks of two content modules 20. Thus, taking into account all tests and independent work maximum the number of points before the final test - 60 points.
