Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying natural processes of formation and development of the pedosphere. P08. Justify the choice and use field and laboratory methods for the analysis of natural and anthropogenic systems and objects. P09. To be able to carry out studies of the pedosphere using quantitative methods of analysis. P11. Organize and summarize the materials of field and laboratory research. P13. Be able to communicate the results of activities to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations and messages.

Full-time form

1) successful mastering of such educational disciplines as "Introduction to Soil Science", "Soil Physics", "Soil Chemistry", "Genesis and Morphology of Soils". 2) possession of elementary skills of soil research.

The educational discipline consists of two content modules. The first content module is devoted to the methodology and methodology of soil science research. General principles of soil science research, peculiarities of soil as an object of research, methodological approaches to the study of soils, including typical problems in the study of soils and sources of information about them are considered; characteristics of field and laboratory research methods in soil science (profile-genetic, morphological, comparative-geographic, comparative-historical, ecological, cartographic, aerospace, radioisotope, physical, chemical, physico-chemical, modeling method, soil monoliths, vegetation vessels, soil extracts ). The elemental composition and chemical properties of soils and methods of their determination are also investigated. In the second content module, the study of laboratory and analytical methods of soil research continues. Methods of determining the physical properties of the soil, soil moisture and water regime, humus state of the soil, gas phase of soils and their air properties, as well as methods of determining the migration of substances in soils are characterized in general terms. Particular attention is paid to the methods of studying soil cover and the use of geographic information systems in soil science research.
