Learning outcomes
PLO 10. Know the system of the first foreign language. PLO 13. Know the norms of the first foreign language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 17. Use the first foreign language in oral and written form, in different genre and style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in various spheres of life. PLO 34.1. Have a command of modern versions and registers of the first foreign language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of Spanish at a level not lower than B2, be familiar with basic linguistic concepts of standard language, variation, or territorial difference, languages, language register, and dialectal varieties of language; have skills in analyzing linguistic units, analyzing and critically commenting on texts in the specialty; be able to apply in practice knowledge of theoretical disciplines of philology.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to develop knowledge of the variability of the Spanish language and the variability of its use depending on the communicative situation, the level of education of speakers and the geography of their origin, corresponds to the advanced stage of studying Spanish as a speciality. The course involves the development of skills and abilities to use Spanish in various situations of intercultural communication; it is designed to ensure an appropriate level of linguistic and discourse competence as a basis for interlingual mediation. The discipline belongs to the elective components of the block "Translation in Intercultural Communication" of the educational and professional programme. The form of final control is an exam. The language of instruction is Spanish.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes and individual work: completing exercises, preparing and presenting presentations, writing an essay.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student during the semester and the points obtained at the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam). During the semester, the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1 of the RNAP: preparation and activity in the classroom - 30/ 18; preparation of 2 presentations - 10/ 6, writing an essay - 5/ 3. Students who score less than the critical-calculated minimum of 36 points are not allowed to take the exam. For such students, a final semester test is held at the end of the semester or additional essays on course topics are assessed. The exam consists of two parts: a theoretical question (20/12) and a practical task (20/12).
