Learning outcomes
Have the theoretical knowledge about: features of international treaty practice of the European Union; EU powers to conclude international agreements; types of international treaties of the EU, association agreements as a special type of international treaties of the EU; EU Eastern Partnership policy. analyze the provisions of the EU founding treaties; to determine the legal basis of existing international treaties of the EU, to carry out their analysis and classification, to use the provisions of international treaties of the EU in practice; to understand the peculiarities of the division of competences between the EU and the Member States in various matters of external relations and to determine the bodies competent in specific areas of external relations; to analyze the legal basis of the EU's relations with individual regions and third countries on the basis of a broad knowledge of the forms of the EU's external relations;

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The discipline "Legal Aspects of Cooperation between the EU and Third Countries" works closely with the cycle of disciplines of theoretical, professional and practical training, in particular, courses such as "Public International Law", "History of International Relations", "Law of international treaties", "Law of the European Union". "Law of International Organizations", as well as such disciplines of specialization "European Law" as "EU Institutional Law", "EU Law of foreign relations", "Fundamental Freedoms of the EU Internal Market", "Common Trade Policy of EU". In addition to the basic concepts of international law, the student must understand the legal nature of the EU, the structure of EU law, have knowledge of the organizational and legal mechanism of the EU and the legal basis for the division of competence between the EU and its member states.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 25 points), independent work (up to 36 points), presentation of an individual topic (up to 15 points), final modular test (up to 24 points). The form of final control is a credit which is carried out in the form of written recitation.
