PLO 17. Develop and implement effective communication with target audiences to achieve political, economic, and other goals of the subjects of international relations. PLO 20. Analyze the international media environment and determine the features of the use of media tools in the implementation of foreign policy interests of the world.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: the basic concepts of the theory of communication and public relations, types and models of communication, the basics of organizing and conducting PR-campaigns, the specifics of communication technologies, to distinguish media channels. Be able to: work with information and media sources, analyze communication processes and prepare basic information materials. Have basic skills: basic knowledge of computer science, basic skills of working with information sources of various types, sufficient to perform practical tasks of foreign languages
Course content
Module 1. Basic principles of activity of information subdivisions of government departments. Lecture 1. Introductory lecture. Information activities of government agencies: functions and tasks of the communications manager in media relations. Lecture 2. Communicative management as a component of state information policy: government, corporate and public sectors. Lecture 3 - 4. Principles and forms of organization of modern communication service of government agencies and the corporate sector. Lecture 5. Media monitoring as a tool for research and formation of media work strategy. Lecture 6 - 7. Modern practice of communication services of government agencies: practical aspect. Lecture 8. Activities of communication services of government agencies: risks and provocative moments. Test module work: Experience of interaction of government agencies with national and foreign media (national and world experience). Module 2. Practice of communication services in interaction with the media. Lecture 9. Preparation of press materials in standard and crisis situations. Lecture 10. The latest information and communication technologies in the work of communication services. Lecture 11. Activities of information and analytical departments of the diplomatic mission in the press service.

Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of assessment: the level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of student work in seminars, the quality of preparation of written independent, tests, case studies, presentations, and individual presentations. Semester assessment is carried out in the form of testing of knowledge and skills: activity and quality of speeches, reports at seminars, participation in discussions, quality of prepared presentations, activity in discussing reports and subject discussions - up to 70 points (on average up to 10 points per seminar, at least 7 seminars, 7x10 = 70 points), the threshold level of positive evaluation - 35 points. Test module work - up to 10 points. Modular work is accepted in due time. The course has 2 meaningful parts. The discipline ends with a test. The credit score is calculated as the simple sum of the points obtained by the student during the semester. Up to 20 points are awarded.
