Learning outcomes
To understand the content of the categories "the legal system”, "the legal family", "legal map of the world"; that the legal system of each country is the result of historical development, it is inimitable and unique phenomenon; characteristic features of legal families; the importance of the influence of legal consciousness, legal culture, religion, legal understanding on the formation of legal systems; location of legal families on the legal map of the world; mechanisms of interaction of different national legal systems and their transformation under the influence of international and, in particular, European law

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The Course "European comparative law" is based on and closely interacts with a series of disciplines of theoretical, professional and practical training in the field of international relations.
The student should have general knowledge of the basics of international relations, international law and its interaction with national law.

Thematic plan of the discipline:
1. Comparative jurisprudence: method, science, academic course
Methodology of comparative legal research
2. Classification of modern legal systems and its criteria
3. Romano-germanic legal family
4. Anglo-saxon legal family
5. Religious and traditional legal families. The family of Islamic law
6. Hindu law. Jewish law. Canon law
7. Customary legal family. Far Eastern legal family
8. The place of the legal system of Ukraine among the legal systems of the modern world.
9. International legal systems. Interaction of legal systems. The impact of European law on the legal systems of European states

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 5 points), writing independent work (up to 2 points), modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is an exam. The exam is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the exam – up to 40 points
