Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know: the evolution of views on the system of social protection and social assistance; legal support for the implementation of social policy in the field of social protection in Ukraine; modern economic principles of formation of directions of social policy in the field of social work; features of the formation of the domestic system of management of the social sphere; principles of social policy formation in a democratic society. Be able to: use the acquired theoretical knowledge and apply it in practical work; to attract best foreign experience in reforming the field of social protection and social assistance; to establish appropriate relations with representatives of state and public organizations and institutions that are subjects of social policy, which are engaged in the process of forming directions of social policy in the field of social work; identify and evaluate current social policy issues at the local, regional and national levels and contribute to their solution.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form in future social workers an idea of the content, objectives, principles and mechanisms of development and implementation of social policy in the field of social work; to present the theoretical foundations of the study of social policy in the social field of scientific knowledge. The course traces the evolution of views and approaches to the principles of social governance; conceptual legal, economic, managerial, ideological, ideological principles of formation of directions of social policy are discussed; the idea of the place, role and importance of social protection, social services and social assistance as a management activity to ensure the implementation of the rights and freedoms of citizens in society and its development in the modern world.

Assessment methods and criteria
Verbal answers, practical tasks, presentations, essays, reports, colloquium The maximum number of points per semester is 60 points. Writing exam, the minimum number of points for sitting the examination is 36 points. The number of points scored throughout semester is announcing in advance.
