PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian and English. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 17. Collect, analyse, systematize and interpret language and speech facts and use them to solve complex problems and tasks in specialized fields of professional activity and / or training.

Full-time form

To know the theoretical foundations of the modern Ukrainian literary language. Be able to correctly analyze linguistic phenomena; to comment on the stylistic norms of the Ukrainian literary language; create texts of various functional styles. Possess elementary skills of complex linguistic text analysis.

The goal of the discipline is to form students' understanding of the Ukrainian language as a multifunctional system and to help master the stylistic norms of the language. Scientifically based criteria for the functional analysis of the language, detection of the functional styles of the Ukrainian literary language, in particular the extra- and intralingual factors of their formation, are presented. The peculiarities of the regulated use of stylistic norms in texts of different styles are clarified.
