Learning outcomes
Know the main periods of the history of political thought; theory of political power and political system, theory of democracy, features of political regimes; theories of the state, parties, interest groups, political elites, political leadership; the essence of elections and electoral systems, the nature, essence and methods of settling political conflicts; the essence of political culture and political consciousness, the main ideological currents in the modern world; processes of international political life, the geopolitical situation in the modern world. To be able to analyze the processes of domestic and international political life, the geopolitical situation, the status of Ukraine in the modern world; determine and reveal the essence of current political problems, critically evaluate knowledge about socio-political phenomena and processes, which is presented in the mass consciousness and in the mass media.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the course, students must: - have generalized knowledge about the processes and phenomena of social existence, about the philosophical, cultural, political-legal and socio-economic foundations of society's life; - to be able to collect and analyze information about events, processes and phenomena of social and political life of society; - have basic skills in using information sources; scientific research and information management; critical attitude to socio-political events and phenomena.
