Learning outcomes
Know: Classification of analysis methods. Metrological characteristics of analytical methods and their requirements. The concept of testing depends on the purpose and nature of the expected information. Methods of primary preparation of samples for mineralogical and analytical study. Mineralogical analysis and additional methods of mineral diagnostics. Instrumental methods of determining the elemental composition of rocks and minerals. Be able to: Independently set a research task, Independently choose a scheme of initial trial preparation depending on the task. Assess the quality of received analytical information. Perform quantitative mineralogical analysis of track and protoloch samples

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses: "General Geology", "Crystalography", "Mineralogy", "Petrography", "General geochemistry". 2. Ability to analyze and think logically.
Course content
In the process of studying the discipline, issues related to: classification of methods of mineral substance research are considered; metrological characteristics of analytical methods and requirements for them; testing and preparation of samples for mineralogical and analytical study; features of mineralogical, X-ray diffractometric and main types of elemental analysis. Examples of solving specific practical problems are considered

Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale The final grade is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester. The assessment is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes 2 written modular tests, each of which is valued at 20 points, and practical classes are also valued at 20 points, - 40 points are assigned to the exam.
