Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) know the basics of anthropogenic paleogeography, Quaternary geology, paleoecology and biosphere evolution, geoarchaeology. 2) be able to establish relationships between ecosystem components, analyze them. 3) to have elementary skills of system analysis, to understand the cause-and-effect relationships between the components of nature.
Course content
The discipline consists of two content modules. The first one analyzes the regional paleogeography of the Holocene as a scientific discipline, the problems of Holocene periodization, its lower limit, genetic types and lithologic-facies differences of Holocene deposits, field, archival-historical and analytical methods of studying the Holocene. The second content module examines regional reconstructions of landscapes and their components by stages and micro-stages of the Holocene, different stages of the development of nature in the Holocene, trends of climatic changes in the Holocene, the importance of studying micro-stages for predicting likely natural changes in the future.
