PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian and English in oral and written forms, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the differential criteria for distinguishing Internet communication from other types of communication. Be able to analyze various communicative situations and practical tasks. Possess elementary skills of scientific research, comparative method, critical thinking and information hygiene skills.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the key areas of business linguistics, its origins and socio-historical prerequisites for its emergence, determination of the specificity and practical significance of Internet communication in the business sphere. This course is an introductory course in the selective block "Business Linguistics". This course defines the main theoretical concepts of business linguistics and outlines the ways of practical implementation of translation, editing and text creation in the business sphere. Business linguistics is considered as a promising interdisciplinary direction of applied linguistics for the study of the use of language resources in business and the sphere of interaction of business linguistics with related fields. The discursive approach is defined as a key approach in business linguistics, the concept of business discourse and the analysis of language functioning in the business context are considered.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received in the process of assimilation of the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: homework, additions, test) and for independent work (writing an individual creative task, working out scientific studies). All types of work for the semester have a total of: max. - 60 points, min. - 36 points. The final assessment is an exam in the form of a test The final number of points for the discipline (max. 100) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final assessment (exam). Admission to the exam requires the student to successfully complete assignments and work throughout the semester.
