Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Geography of recreation and tourism", "Tourist country studies", "Basics of tourism studies", "Tourist cartography". 2. To have the skills of analysis, synthesis, situation modeling, forecasting, comparison. 3. To be able to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the features of natural physical factors of various resort regions of both Ukraine and the world, the possibilities of their use for recreation and improvement of human well-being. 4. To be able to establish relationships between the causes and consequences of medico-geographical problems and determine the needs of the population in sanatorium-resort treatment
Course content
The educational discipline is devoted to the study of conceptual and organizational foundations of the resort business as a set of all types of activities with organization and implementation of rehabilitation, prevention and treatment diseases based on the use of natural medical resources. The discipline is aimed at forming students' social and personal skills competencies, accumulation of knowledge to achieve critical capabilities thinking, analysis and synthesis, the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources, the ability to determine, formulate and solve problems of functioning and development of sanatorium-resort territories as in borders of Ukraine and the world; search for innovations to improve service quality, motivation to lead a healthy lifestyle. Special attention is paid classification of resorts and treatment factors, leading treatment techniques and their impact on human health when used in resort institutions, principles of operation of sanatorium institutions resort profile, analysis of legal regulation of activity sanatorium-resort and health facilities, functioning problems and the development of resort areas of Ukraine, the main development trends resorts of the world.

Assessment methods and criteria
Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminar classes, participation in discussions, individual tasks on the issues of the discipline are provided. The discipline ends with an exam. During the semester, after the completion of the relevant topics, final written tests are conducted. Final control papers are conducted in the form of tests and open questions and are designed to reveal the knowledge and skills gained when mastering the relevant topics. For students who during the semester did not reach the minimum cut-off grade level (60% of the maximum possible number of points), a final semester test is conducted, the maximum grade for which cannot exceed 40% of the final grade (up to 40 points on a 100-point scale).
