Learning outcomes
PLO13 To apply theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, rational argumentation, analysis and synthesis in practical situations. PLO14 To identify, to evaluate, to process and to analyze, to present results, facts, data, and spatio-temporal information from various primary and secondary sources using general and specialized (geographic and socialpolitical) information, analytical and communication techniques, methods, and technologies. PLO15 To research at an advanced professional level, to design and develop a program, and to perform comprehensive research, to manage projects of geographical and interdisciplinary orientation, to evaluate and ensure the quality of work. 1) Basic knowledge of the theoretical foundations of geoglobalistics and regional studies; 2) Skills of comparative geographical, context, indicator, spatial analysis; 3) Basic knowledge and skills of management
Course content
The course updates knowledge and skills of professional analytics, design and management of research projects in relation to specific research tasks and practical problems, considering, in particular: the integrative role of geographical knowledge in solving current research problems and practical problems in global studies; basic principles, ontological principles, conceptual map of research and preparation of research proposal; analytical scheme of research using qualitative and quantitative research methods, methods of visualization of data and research results; basics of project activity methods and stages of research project management. The course is taught in English.

Assessment methods and criteria
All types of work are evaluated throughout the term, including selfpreparatory assignments. For works submitted after stipulated deadlines, the grade is reduced by one point per each day of delay. 1. Seminars’ discussions – up to 20/12 points 2. Presentation of individual task – up to 20/12 poits (per each) 3. Defense of individual tasks - up to 20/12 points For obtaining a positive final grade in the discipline it is necessary to achieve at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points, and the grade for learning results provided for in paragraphs 2 and 3 may not be less than 50% of the maximum level (not less than 20, 5 and 8 points respectively).
