Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of English and the two studied Western European languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice.
PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages.
PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
A “Pass” in second language (French) courses taught at the educational program during previous 6 terms.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at mastering vocabulary on the topics specified in the syllabus, improvement of listening comprehension of authentic texts, reading and writing skills, language reproduction at B2(+) level, as well as the development of the ability to determine lexical and grammatical features of language units in the language system, understanding and explanation of the linguistic and extralingual phenomena in the French language.

Training activities during the term:
• oral answer,
• written hometasks,
• module tests,
• exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
Term assessment:
• maximum number of points during the term - 60,
• maximum number of points for the exam - 40,
• the following learning outcomes are assessed at the exam: LO 1.1, LO 1.2, LO 1.3, LO 2.3, LO 3.1., LO 4.1 .;
• the exam consists of three written tasks: reading, translation and lexical and grammatical analysis of the text, the topic of which is related to the material studied during the term; grammatical issue; conversational topic.
Students who scored a total of less than the critical calculated minimum - 36 points before the exam are not allowed to take the exam.
