Prerequisites and co-requisites
to know the theoretical foundations of cultural studies, the principles of classification and periodization of the cultural evolution of Bulgaria and its main stages; the structure of culture, the relationship between culture and universal values, the main signs of the state of development of Bulgarian culture in different historical periods. - to be able to analyze and interpret cultural phenomena that took place in different historical periods, systematize them and establish a cause-and-effect relationship between them; creatively apply the knowledge acquired during the study of the discipline, work with relevant scientific literature. - to have the skills of scientific research and information management, use of foreign-language professional informative sources.
Course content
The purpose of the academic discipline is to give students a generalized picture of the development of the culture of the country whose language is studied by students as the main one. The discipline "History of Bulgarian culture" belongs to the list of mandatory disciplines and is studied during the IV semester in accordance with the curriculum "Bulgarian language and literature and English language". The task of the discipline is to provide students with basic information about the processes and phenomena that were characteristic of all representative spheres of Bulgarian culture throughout the history of its development, to consider the main topics and problems at various stages of the historical development of Bulgarian culture.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and practical classes, guidance of independent work and monitoring of its implementation, individual consultations, examination.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level evaluation of the learned material, in particular, the evaluation of theoretical training - the results of learning, which is 40% of the total grade, and the practical evaluation, which is 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral answer, additions, participation in lectures and practical discussions, blitz surveys, tests - 25/45 points. 2. Presentation – 11/15 points. (10 points for preparation + 5 points for defense). The final grade is assigned based on the results of the student's work during the semester and the answers to the exam. The minimum positive number of points to receive "credited" is 60 points.
