Learning outcomes
PRN1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the official, Bulgarian and English languages orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PRN10. Know the norms of the Bulgarian literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PRN11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state, Bulgarian and English languages. PRN14. To use the Bulgarian and English languages, in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PRN15. Carry out linguistic, literary and Slavic philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres.

Course content
The goal of the educational discipline: to provide Slavic students with basic knowledge of the lexical and grammatical aspects of Bulgarian-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Bulgarian translation, to familiarize students with the concept of lexical equivalent, lexical variant, to consider ways of translating non-equivalent vocabulary, proper names and names, vocabulary to denote social political concepts, terminological vocabulary, phraseological combinations; highlight the grammatical difficulties of two-way translation in the context of the grammar of the Bulgarian and Ukrainian languages, consider the phenomenon of grammatical transformation, varieties of grammatical transformations in the specified pair of languages; to form stable skills of Bulgarian-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Bulgarian two-way translation in students, to teach them to overcome lexical and grammatical difficulties during translation, to resort to the most appropriate lexical and grammatical option in a certain context.

Lectures and practical classes, guidance of independent work and monitoring of its implementation, individual consultations, exam
Assessment methods and criteria
After the lectures, practical classes are held on relevant topics, at which the planned types of work and forms of control are evaluated: oral response (max. 6), written translation (max. 10), additions, participation in the discussion (max. 3), presentation (max. . 6), modular control work (max. 15). During the semester, written works are checked, individual consultations are held, and the level of assimilation of the material assigned for independent study is assessed. The final grade is assigned based on the results of the student's work during the semester and the oral answer on the exam.
