Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of English and the two studied Western European languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice.
PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages.
PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes.
PLO 14. Use English and two other Western European languages in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in everyday, public, educational, professional and academic spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should know English (equal to or above A2 level); be capable of communicating in English (in oral and written forms) adhering to various styles, genres and registers; have basic skills of public speaking.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to train highly qualified specialists, professionals in philology, English language teachers for higher and general education institutions with parallel formation of linguistic and methodological skills and abilities necessary for future foreign language teachers, expanding the worldview, improving scientific-theoretical and scientific-methodological skills. The discipline ends with an exam at the end of the term.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is delivered with the help of such activities as oral reports and written tests.
The teaching methods are practical classes, creative projects, students’ individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course ends with an exam.
Students’ performance during the term is the sum of the points accumulated for their work in classroom (oral reports, tests) and individual work. The minimum score for the term is 36 points (24 points for General English + 12 points for Drama Class), while the maximum score equals 60 (40 points for General English + 20 points for Drama Class) . The minimum score for the exam is 24 and the maximum score is 40.
