Learning outcomes
Know the features and mechanisms of the management of communication in international relations. Understand the essence and the features of the main categories, objectives, and methods of strategic communications. Know the main types, components of communication strategies and areas of their application. Understand the features of practical use of modern models and methods of strategic communications; the benefits and possible risks of applying a strategic approach in communication. Be able to set tasks for the development of a strategic plan of communications in international relations, to formalize practical tasks in accordance with the methods of strategic communications, to form a structure of priorities of the strategic communication plan. Be able to structure target audiences and form a TA profile in accordance with the goals and objectives of the communication project.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
- knowledge of the basics of communication theory, public relations, psychology and ethics of communication, theoretical and methodological foundations of communication management in international relations; - ability to determine the main goal of the communication project and structure the target audiences according to a set of criteria; to form a set of efficiency criteria, to formulate the main messages of the information campaign; - possession of basic PC skills and application of software, monitoring and analysis of the current state of performance indicators, work with sources and channels of information
Course content
1. Theoretical and methodological principles of communications management in IR. 2. Areas of application of strategic communications. Features and mechanisms of strategic communications. 3. Models of strategic communications. 4. Strategic communications plan. 5. Structuring target audiences in the context of developing a strategic communication plan. 6. Forming a profile of target audiences. 7. Communication goals in the context of developing a strategic communication plan. 8. Channels of information spread in the context of strategic communication plan development. 9. Evaluation of the effectiveness of strategic communications 10. Monitoring the effectiveness of CP. Methods and organization of monitoring

Lecture, practical classes, case studies, educational discussions, individual and group practical tasks
Assessment methods and criteria
1. Activity and participation in the discussion and in group practical work, the quality of argumentation in the discussion; the quality of the individual task – up to 65 points. 2. Tasks for individual work (case study presentation) – up to 20 points. 3.Module control work (online testing) – up to 15 points.
